Archie L. Rich II

Archie L. Rich II

Archie L. Rich, II is the founding partner and senior attorney at LawMD, a full-service medical malpractice law firm that serves clients in Washington, D.C. and throughout the United States.

An experienced litigator with over 20 years’ experience in medical malpractice matters, Mr. Rich is widely recognized as a relentless advocate for the rights of individuals injured by the avoidable mistakes of hospitals, corporations, and individuals. Having recovered millions of dollars for his clients, Mr. Rich strives daily to increase community access to civil justice—one client victory at a time.

A 1994 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, Mr. Rich’s professional background includes substantial work as a corporate leader in international business. In the mid-1990s, Mr. Rich served as Director of International Business Development for WorldSpace Corporation, a provider of direct satellite and digital audio and multimedia services to global markets in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Mr. Rich then joined the insurance defense law firm of Heggestad & Weiss, where he witnessed firsthand the unfair tactics insurance companies and their lawyers use to deny victims access to rightful compensation and justice. It was in this environment that Mr. Rich decided to join the fight for fairness and civil justice by representing people forced to fight back against wealthy insurance companies.

As a corporate lawyer, Mr. Rich provided legal advice and support for a number of mega-transactions, including Cingular’s acquisition of AT&T Wireless in 2004 and the SBC’s acquisition of AT&T in 2005. He has also participated as an attorney in major regulatory matters involving antitrust controversies before the United States Department of Justice.

Since 2001, Mr. Rich has directed his professional focus exclusively to advancing the rights of the injured. He joined Larry C. Williams and Associates in 2002, where he expanded the firm’s personal injury practice to include a medical malpractice unit featuring the most distinguished attorneys and medical professionals in the area.

LawMD quickly gained recognition as one of the region’s premier medical malpractice law firms. Joined by a team of attorney-physicians, Mr. Rich has helped hundreds of clients from across the country obtain justice in personal injury and medical malpractice matters.

Mr. Rich currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. and is a Consumer Member on the D.C. Board of Medicine. He is also active in his church and serves in outreach ministries that include the Ministry of Justice and Prison Ministry.
